China BlueChemical Ltd. ('China BlueChem' or the 'Company', Hong Kong Stock Exchange stock code: 3983) is a large and modern enterprise engaging in advanced processing of natural gas including developing, manufacturing and selling of chemical fertilizers and chemical products. China BlueChem was established on 25 April 2006 and its headquarters in Dongfang City, Hainan Province. On 29 September 2006, the Company was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with stock code 3983.

China BlueChem is among the largest in production volume and most energy efficient nitrogenous fertilizer producers in China which principal businesses are manufacturing, developing and selling urea and high value-added synthetic chemical products with natural gas as the raw material. China BlueChem possesses enormous production capacity, advanced manufacturing technology, and an extensive sales network that covers 20 provinces in China.

Currently, the Company operates 3 large-scale urea production bases in Hainan Province and Inner Mongolia with total annual designed urea production capacity of 1.84 million tonnes:
1. Hainan Fudao Phase I: annual designed capacity of 300,000 tonnes of ammonia and 520,000 tonnes of urea
2. Hainan Fudao Phase II: annual designed capacity of 450,000 tonnes of ammonia and 800,000 tonnes of urea
3. Inner Mongolia Tianye Chemical Plant: annual designed capacity of 520,000 tonnes of traditional prill urea and 200,000 tonnes of methanol

In running its fertilizer operations, China BlueChem adopts product diversification strategy. Methanol, a synthetic chemical product is the fruit of the strategic effort and is another major product of the Group. With the Tianye methanol plant is designed to produce 200,000 tonnes of methanol a year, China BlueChem is also constructing a new methanol plant in Hainan. This CNOOC Jiantao methanol plant is a joint venture with Hong Kong Kingboard Group. It will expand methanol production capacity of the Group by another 600,000 tonnes a year, and the construction completed in September 2006 and operations to commence in January 2007. The Company will then be among methanol producers with the largest production capacities in China.

The Company also produces complex fertilizers and food-class carbon dioxide at a designed annual capacity of 50,000 tonnes and 30,000 tonnes respectively, and operates port and manufacture of woven bags businesses. It is building a new polyoxymethelene plant in Tianye, which is scheduled for completion by the end of 2008. By then, the Company's annual production capacity for polyoxymethelene will reach 60,000 tonnes.

As a core subsidiary of China's third largest petroleum company, CNOOC, and a sister company of CNOOC Limited, one of the petroleum and natural gas developers and manufacturers with most reserves in the world, China BlueChem enjoys stable and cost effective raw material supply. Riding on the persistent growth of the chemical fertilizer industry in China, the Company will be able to, via expanding production capacity, enhance the standard of its chemical fertilizer business. In addition, the Company will seize acquisition opportunities arising from the industry consolidation in China to expand its capacity and market share quickly China BlueChem aspires to become the largest chemical fertilizer manufacturer and most effective resources processing enterprise in the chemical industry in China, which is also geared up for competing in the international market.
