Industrial methanol has wide
applications. Apart from being a good solvent for many
organic compounds, it is used in producing synthetic fiber,
formaldehyde, plastics, medicine, pesticides, dyes and
synthetic proteins, etc.
The Company uses natural gas as the raw material and advanced
technologies and facilities brought in from Germany to
produce methanol, a high value-added synthetic chemical
product. The AA class methanol facility in Tianye has
a designed annual production capacity of 200,000 tonnes
and has been in operation since April 2006. Through CNOOC
Jiantao, we are currently constructing in Hanian a second
methanol plant with a designed annual production capacity
of 600,000 tonnes of methanol, which completion is scheduled
for September 2006.Small part of the methanol produced
by the plant will be used by the company in production,
while most of the rest will be sold to wholesale customers
for resale. |
