On 16 August 2010, Qian Zeqin, a general staff of Hubei Dayukou Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereafter known as “DYK Chemical”, a subsidiary of China BlueChem Ltd.), upon receiving a donation of RMB101,000 from Guo Songshan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of DYK Chemical, told his seriously ill 17-year-old son, Qian Yuxiao, in a sob-choked but cheerful voice, “Son, the one I am giving to you is not just money but a life-saving gift from our benefactor!”In July 2009, the energetic Qian Yuxiao suddenly fell ill and was ultimately diagnosed as having non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma by the hospital, which recommended a bone marrow transplant as soon as possible. The cost was estimated to be over RMB300,000. To cure the disease, his family had given all of what they had and had borrowed from all relatives and friends, but it was hardly enough to cover the huge medical bill. In August 2009, the labor union of DYK Chemical gave timely relief assistance of RMB 8,000 to Qian Zeqin’s family and launched fundraising campaigns in the meantime. Four fundraising campaigns carried out by the entire DYK Chemical staff were launched successively from August last year to July this year and more than RMB 80,000 was raised. However, as the illness of Qian Yuxiao had been growing worse, the treatment costs were also increasing accordingly. In July 2010, the officers from the headquarter office of the China BlueChem Ltd. were aware of the difficulties of Qian Zeqin’s family. Under the initiation and leadership of Mr. Yang Yexin, CEO and Secretary of the Party Committee, the officers from the headquarter office including those stationed at each production base immediately conducted a life-saving donation activity of “Dedicate one love, help one family”. The company’s headquarter office raised over RMB 100,000 for Qian Yuxiao in a very short period of time. When the headquarter office delegated DYK Chemical to give this amount of money to Qian Yuxiao, that touching scene of the very beginning appeared.Qian Yuxiao is unfortunate and yet fortunate at the same time, because there are so many kind hearted persons who care for him and love him.
