On 1 June 2016, the board of directors (the “Board”) of China BlueChemical Ltd. appointed Mr. Xia Qinglong as the chief executive officer (CEO) and president (the “CEO and President”) of the Company for a term which will end on the date on which the next session of the Board re-appoints a new CEO and President. The Board also proposed to appoint Mr. Xia Qinglong as executive Director of the Company.

Mr. Xia Qinglong, born in 1964, has been with CNOOC for 30 years, having joined the group in 1986 upon his graduation from university. He was previously executive deputy director of CNOOC Bohai Petroleum Administrative bureau and executive deputy general manager of CNOOC China Limited Tianjin Branch.
